2021 – The Summer of Love (Part One)

It’s been a summer to remember for many reasons! After many long delays we have finally got back to creating wedding flowers again for all our patient and gorgeous couples. For all our couples who postponed from last year it has been an amazing feeling to be finally creating their wedding flowers.

Whilst it has been a crazy few months, with two years worth of weddings in a short space of time, we wouldn’t have had it any other way. And to top it off, we still have a busy second half of the year all the way into the end of September before we enjoy a little downtime ahead of a surge of winter weddings and of course Christmas!  In the meantime we thought this was the perfect opportunity to show you all a few of the beautiful weddings we’ve had so far.

Cara & Liam

On a gorgeous day in July we headed to Bradbourne House, only five minutes from Coco & Bloom, for the backdrop to  Cara and Liam’s big day. Bradbourne House has three stunning locations for the ceremony to take place, Cara and Liam opted for The Hatton Fruit Gardens. Located in between fruitful apple trees, this orchard location provides a real secret garden feel. With the weather in our favour, the floral arch on the outbuilding looked simply stunning. Combining Quicksand roses with Bombastic spray roses, dark pink astrantia and phlox against trailing mixed eucalyptus made for the perfect natural display.

Cara’s bridal bouquets included a tropical spin with beautiful proteas taking centre stage, whilst  keeping the buttonholes simple with Quicksand roses and phlox.

Once Cara and Liam had said their I do’s, the wedding party moved through into The Great Hall. A room full of splendour with historic paintings and ornate turquoise walls. Our tall gold table centrepieces added height to the room. Whilst continuing the bridal colour scheme of pinks and blushes, complementing the aesthetics perfectly. Cara and Liam had also enlisted the help of The Wedding Dolls to help put the finishing touches together on the day with the beautiful table runners and chair covers from Light of My Life completing the look.

Yolanda & Stuart

At the end of July, we were graced with another trip to Bradbourne House, this time for Yolanda and Stuart’s wedding day. They had opted to get married on the steps of The Great Hall, another stunning ceremony location. Yolanda and Stuart opted for a simple style with a modern twist for their wedding flowers, pink peonies and roses alongside dried pampas and bunny tails, eucalyptus and gold painted ruscus.

The bridal bouquet was a beauty, with Amelia claiming she was reliving her wedding bouquet through Yolanda’s when making it. Yolanda and Stuart also opted for the Great Hall for their reception with tall gold geometric stands adorned with flowers to match the bouquet providing a striking centrepiece for each table. These centrepieces were also used for the ceremony to line the aisle, a great idea to add height and colour to an outdoor ceremony.

Georgina & Ben

The second weekend of August was a busy one for us, with Georgina and Ben kicking off the weekend of weddings! A new location for us at The Vines of Rochester which is a fairly new wedding venue. We had been really looking forward to this wedding, as it’s very different to the usual colour palettes of pinks, pastels and whites – this wedding was all about the bright colours: hot pink and yellow!

This vibrant flower mix included the stunning yellow Persuasion rose alongside salmon dahlias, coral sweet peas, ozothamnus, smoke bush, craspedia paired with dark green ruscus. The bouquets were finished off with a hot pink satin ribbon whilst the buttonholes and corsages had a softer pink ribbon to complement their suits.

From the start of our conversations with Georgina and Ben, they had their minds set on having one statement piece, with the vibrant colour scheme this a florists dream. Amelia loved creating this focal arrangement in an antique brass urn which sat on a marble and gold plinth, it certainly made the statement required. Finally, the icing on the top really was the cake, made by Georgina’s sister Alex, a semi naked cake with pink meringues finished off with a statement arrangement including roses, sweet peas and craspedia.
